News from Geoff Bonus July 2010
Hi All NSW Sydney 38 Owners
First of all best of luck and fair sailing to Swish,
Eleni, The Goat, J Steel and Zen for the Sydney Gold Coast yacht race starting
tomorrow. The forecast and routing shows that this could be a small boat yacht
race so do not be suprised if you see a 38 on the podium, as per the 2009
Hobart race. Staying ahead of the Archie 31 with the Tow Truck boys on board
may be the big challenge.
Some important dates...

Sydney Yachts sponsors Sydney 38 Australian Championships
Tue, 24 Feb 2009
Australia’s largest sailing yacht manufacturer, Sydney Yachts, in collaboration with clothing brand Line 7, is proud to support the 2009 Sydney 38 Australian Championship, at the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron from February 27th until March 1st.
Sydney Yachts Sales Manager Martin Thompson says 'Sydney Yachts is sponsoring the regatta as part of our continued commitment to delivering quality yacht racing to the largest one design yacht fleet in Australia and in support of our valued clients'.
In the true spirit of the Sydney 38 class, Sydney Yachts is offering the winner of the Corinthian division (non-professional crew) a full winch service, which will be conducted by its dedicated service and maintenance division, AM Care.
In addition, Sydney Yachts is donating five pairs of polarised Kaenon sunglasses for those yachts awarded Boat of the Day, National Champion and Corinthian Champion. There will also be a range of Line 7 prizes up for grabs.
With 13 boats already set to grace the start line and others expected on the day, the competition is bound to be stiff. Special efforts are being made by Challenge and Cinquante who are traveling up to Sydney from Melbourne this weekend for the Nationals/Audi double-header.
'The racing in the Sydney 38 class is always great and is truly one of the best one design keelboat classes in Australia, ' commented Line 7 Marine Manager Pat Langley.
Sydney Yachts constructs a range of race bred vessels with proven performance, style and strength. Sailed across the globe from the gruelling seas of the Sydney to Hobart to the lakes of Chicago, the Sydney Yachts range includes the Sydney 32OD, Sydney 36CR, Sydney 38OD, Sydney 39CR and Sydney 47CR.
AM Care provides technical expertise, advice, service and life-long product support for all Sydney Yachts customers.
